CHARLIE BONIFIELD PASSES AWAY THURSDAY
Charlie Bonifield, son of the late Charlie and Lizzie (Vulgamore) Bonifield, died suddenly Thursday evening at his home in Salisbury. He was born in Elmer 58 years ago, where he grew to manhood.
His first marriage was to Hazel Cunningham of Rutledge, who died in 1950. He later married Mrs. Oletha Lay of Atlanta, who survives; also a step-son, Larry Gordon of St. Louis. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Eli (Pearl) Riley of Atlanta, Miss Clara Bonifield and Mrs. Herman Spencer; and his step-mother, Mrs. Ora Bonifield, all of Elmer.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, and one brother, Lester Bonifield.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Goodding Funeral Home in Atlanta. Interment was in the La Plata Cemetery.

RITES HELD SUNDAY FOR CHARLES BONIFIELD, 58
Funeral services for Charles Bonifield, 58, were held Sunday at the Goodding Funeral Home in Atlanta. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
Mr. Bonifield died unexpectedly Thursday evening at his home following a heart attack.
The son of Charlie and Mary Elizabeth (Vulgamore) Bonifield, Mr. Bonifield was born Sept. 10, 1904 in Elmer. He had been employed for 30 years with the Sinclair Pipeline Co. and had resided in La Plata, Quincy and Salisbury.
Mr. Bonifield was married Oct. 2, 1952 to Oletha Lay, who survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Eli (Pearl) Riley of near Atlanta; his step-mother, Mrs. Ora Bonifield of Elmer; two half-sisters, Miss Clara Bonifield and Mrs. Herman Spencer of Elmer; a step-son, Larry Gordon of St. Louis; two step-grandchildren, Sheila and David Gordon of St. Louis; and his parents-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Lay of Kirksville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Lester Bonifield.

Charles Leslie Bonifield died suddenly at his home Aug. 22 at the age of 58. He and his wife had attended the state fair that day and he was stricken when he returned home.
Mr. Bonifield was born in Elmer, Missouri, in 1904. He was employed by the Sinclair Pipeline Co. in 1934 and had been stationed at the Salisbury plant for about four and a half years.
He is survived by his wife, Oletha; a step-son, Larry Gordon of St. Louis; and a sister.
Funeral services were held at the Goodding Chapel in Atlanta, Missouri, Aug. 25. Burial was in La Plata.
