Seagrove - Ray Thurman Bean, age 88, passed away surrounded by his love ones on Monday, October 15, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Bean was born in Moore County, where he lived his entire life, on December 5, 1929, to John Ollie and Ava Cagle Bean.

He farmed all his life, loved to ride, go places, and talk to people. He never met a stranger. He loved to watch his children and grandkids play ball.

He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and went to church faithfully during his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Boyd, Harold, Melvin, and Edward Bean and their favorite sister, Jaxie McNeill.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vivian Hall Bean, of the home; two sons, Donald Bean and wife, Annette, and their children, Ivy and Taylor and Darrell Bean and wife, Deana, and their children, Hayden, Carson, and Tucker; one daughter, Amy Johnson and husband, Michael, and their children, Stephen, Ava, Samuel, Elizabeth, and Abigail; two brothers, Franklin Bean and wife, Catherine, and Kelly Bean and wife, Shelby; sister-in-law, Georgia Bean; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:45 PM, on Thursday, October 18, at Huldah Baptist Church. The service will begin at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Johnny Henderson, Rev. Edwin Moore, Hurley Nance, and Darrell Bean officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
