Funeral service will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Center Cross Baptist Church, Asheboro, with the Rev. Richard Fisher and the Rev. Harold Baker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Moore County, a retired farmer, a carpenter, a minister of Biscoe Christian Church and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are wife, Nellie F. Bean of Seagrove; daughters, Sharon Thompson, Amelia Cranford, Nancy Garner, all of Seagrove; son, Laney B. Bean of Asheboro; sister, Jaxie McNeill of Seagrove; brothers, Edward Bean of Adams, Tenn., Melvin Bean of Carthage, Ray Bean, Franklin Bean, Kelly Bean, all of Seagrove; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
