Services for Amy Jean Wilks, 94, are scheduled at 10am Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Third & Central Church of Christ. Dale Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery. Kirby-Smith-Rogers is directing arrangements.

Born Stptember 4, 1912, at Gorhamtown, Louisiana, she passed away May 12, 2007, at Lovington Good Samaritan Center.

She was married to H Wandal Wilks on May 4, 1932, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She and her husband had a bus contract for many years in Lovington and she served as a bus driver. She was one of the first members of 3rd & Central Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Nelda Sue Goff of Albuquerque, Genevieve and her husband, Slick Duncan, and Marilyn Barnard of Lovington; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Robert E and Geneva (Gorham) Townsend; four brothers, Elmo, Hardy, Stanley and Andrew Townsend; and five sisters, Ann Jones, Alma Robbins, Bertha Gates, Maude Hall and Johnnie Prestridge.
