Funeral for Ronald Elmo Ashby to Be Held Friday

Ronald Elmo Ashby, 27, died at his home in Maeser Monday at 12:30 p.m. of heart trouble.

He was born February 6, 1916 at Altonah, a son of Alice McCain and William Ashby, He moves to Vernal with his parents in 1923. They later moved to Sunnyvale, California but returned to Vernal two years later.

He attended Vernal schools and just prior ro his death had been employed at the Hammond aircraft factory at San Francisco.

Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers, Eldon Ashby, with the armed forces at Lukefield; Glen Ashby, of Maeser; Dale Ashby, at the Armed Forces at Stinson Beach, California and one sister, Mrs. Edna Vernon of Maeser.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.

Funeral (Special) -- Funeral services for Ronald Elmo Ashby, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ashby who died at his home in Maeser December 13, of a heart ailment were held at the Maeser Chapel Friday at 1:00 p.m. The opening prayer was by Thomas E. Hall, a mixed quartet sang, " Sometime We'll Understand." Harvey Knight sang, "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Knight. Duet by Mrs. Margaret Caldwell and Virginia Hacking, "Whispering Hope," accompanied by Mrs. Edna Jones.

The speakers were Carl R. Richens, President Archie Johnson and Edwin Bodily. The quartet sang, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." Benediction by Lyle Glines. There were many beautiful floral offerings.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Swain Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Eldon, Dale and Glen Ashby, Lee Murray, Harold Ashby and Alton Vernon.

Those attending from distant points were Mrs. James B. Murray, Altona; Jay and May Hall, Logan; brothers, Corporal Eldon Ashby of Luke Field, Arizona and Salt Lake City; Dale of the coast guard in California.
