Maria L Thue was the daughter of Lars Helgeson Thue and Martha Andersdatter Grinde.
Maria married Jens Jenssen Barsness between 1883 and 1884.
They had thirteen children: Lewis J; Marthin; Martha J; Nels J; John; Melven; John J; Melvin; Andrias (Andrew); Edwin; Harris (Harry); Isabel; and Lawrence J Barsness.

The grave stone says "Maria Barsness 1865 - 1942 Mother"
Death certificate says Dec 6, 1866 to Sept. 20, 1942.

Obit was located in the Cass Lake Times, September 24, 1942 on page 1 and reads as follows:
"Pioneer Woman goes to reward. Mrs. Jens Barsness passed away Sunday at Cass Lake Hospital.
Mrs. Jens Barsness, a resident of Cass Lake for thirty-one years passed away at the Cass Lake hospital Sunday at 12:30 a.m. She was 75 years of age.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, at Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. Orion A. Anderson officiating and interment made in the Pine Grove cemetery.
Maria Helgeson Barsness was born December 6, 1867 at Madison, Wisconsin. In 1883 she was married to Jens Barsness and in 1911 they came to Cass Lake where they settled on a farm. Mr. Barsness preceded his wife in death by seven years. Since that time Mrs. Barsness spent most of the time with her son Andrew and other children.
She is survived by one brother, Henry Helgeson of Kenyon Minnesota and nine children: Martin of Saskatchawan, Canada and the following all of Cass Lake: John, Melvin, Andrew, Edwin, Harry, Lawrence and Mrs. Sam Johnson (Martha) and Mrs. Ben Greenside (Bella). She is also survived by 33 grand children and 10 great grandchildren. Six children have preceeded her in death."
