A quiet wedding took place last night at the parochial residence, Father Othbons officiating, the happy twain being Miss Margaret Romley and Mr. Benjamin Lynch. The mother and sister of the bride arrived from White Pine Colo., yesterday morning to attend the ceremony. MARGARET RUMLEY LYNCH
Requiem High Mass was sung for the late Margaret Rumley Lynch at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30. Father Horgan officiated with he assistance of the Annunciation choir. Interment was in the family plot as St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pallbearers were Wm. J. Carter, John Gregory, Edward O’Brien, Alex Baldessari, Wm. Hasty and Clarence McMurrough.
Margaret V. Rumley was born in Glenwood Springs on July 26, 1889. On April 16, 1906, she married Benjamin N. Lynch. To this union were born eight children, three of whom have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lynch was very active in civic and social affairs. She was past president of the Altar & Rosary Society, a member of the Women’s Relief Corps and past president of the Leadville Women’s club. She was affiliated with the Cloud City Garden club and spent a great deal of time nurturing flowers not ordinarily found in this climate. Her beautiful garden was a source of great enjoyment to her. She was a devout member of the Annunciation church and a very devoted mother.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of the Glendale Circle, Neighbors of Woodcraft for over 35 years.
Mes Lynch is survived by a brother, Bert Rumley of Payette, Idaho, and a sister, Georgia, of Casper, Wyoming. The five children surviving her are Ben K. Lynch of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Lawrence W. Lynch of San Diego, California, Mrs. D. W. Boyd of San Francisco, Mrs. L. B. Ledford of San Diego and Lenore of Leadville. There are seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
