Mr. Francis X. Keaney, age 72 of Lynn, died Monday in Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Marjorie A. (Sullivan) Keaney with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Arlington and raised in Billerica, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Donnelly) Keaney. He attended Billerica schools, was a graduate of Boston College High School Class of 1949 and received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Boston College Class of 1954. He had been a Lynn resident for over 40 years. He had been employed as a business administrator for John Hancock Life Insurance in Boston for over 30 years until his retirement in 1986. He was active with ST. Pius V Church Beano for many years. He was a communicant of ST. Pius V Church, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his wife, he leaves 2 daughters; Patricia A. Bergin of Woburn and her husband Joseph and Carole L. Maxfield of Lowell and her husband Brian. 3 brothers; Philip Keaney of Port St. Lucie, FL, Monsignor James Keaney of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Rev. John Keaney of MM of Maryknoll, NY. 3 sisters; Ellen Keaney and Mary Keaney both of Billerica and Sr. Carol Keaney, OSU of Goshen, NY. 1 brother-in-law; Charles Sullivan of Lowell. 3 grandchildren Erin Bergin, Craig Maxfield and Eric Maxfield. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Hugh Keaney.
