Jimmy Wilson “Shorty” Alls, 88, of Walnut Ridge, passed away July 31, 2018 at his residence.

He was born May 3, 1930 in Lynn, to the late Willie and Mabel Wrather Alls. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1953 to Mazie Arnold Alls. “Shorty” was a member of the Hoxie Methodist Church and a dedicated farmer; he was honored to be the Lawrence County Farm Family of the Year in 1974.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marilyn Joy; and nine siblings, Charlie, Robert, John, Jerry, Bill, Ray, Fred, Fay, and Opal.

Survivors include his wife, Mazie Alls of the home; two sons, Jimmy Dennis Alls of Black Rock, and Don Wilson (Brenda) Alls of Walnut Ridge; one daughter, Rita (Tim) Taylor of Walnut Ridge; six grandchildren, Brian and Anthony Alls, Donna Green, Sarah Gifford, Leah Williams, and Mark Taylor; nine great grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Zayne, and Piper Alls, Brylee and Branson Green, Seth Gifford, Amelia and Sophia Williams, and a great grandson expected in December; four sisters, Marie Corbitt and Lois Fitzwater both of IL, Opha Arnold of Hoxie, and Jennie Owens of Bono; two brothers, Richard Alls of TX, and Carl Alls of Lynn; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel in Hoxie with Bro. Garry Wiles, Bro. Tim Campbell and Rev. Beth Perdue officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian and Anthony Alls, Mark Taylor, Michael Gifford, Jason Green, and Ben Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles and Joe Belk, Steve Graddy, Bobby Mike Watson, and the Men’s Sunday School Class at the Hoxie Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Stranger’s Home Cemetery near Alicia.

Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
