Capt. Don Jeffreys, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was born on Oct. 6, 1947, to Lonnie and Mable Jeffreys.
Visitation and memorial services to honor Don's life and spirit will be Wednesday, March 28 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services beginning at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
Don was fun loving and generous, with a bigger–than-life personality; people and pets were naturally drawn to him, and he made friends everywhere he went. Captain Don, as he was known by many, loved boating, water skiing and just being on the water.
He will be missed very much by his family and many, many, friends.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cynthia Holland Jeffreys; brothers, Billy (Judy), Mike (Debbie); sisters, Betty Gresham (Bill), Bobbie Young; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mable; brother, Ray; and brother-in-law, Steve Holland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Phil Campbell School System Tornado Fund, or to the pet shelter of your choice.
