W/O Lantie Pipes AlexanderGordy Alexander of Savannah died Tuesday, Nov. 25,1997 at the Hardin County Nursing Home at the age of 89. He was born in Hardin County on Jan. 9, 1908, the son of the late William Chesley and Laura Owen Alexander. On March 23, 1935, Mr. Alexander married the former Lantie Pipes. He was a farmer and a carpenter. Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in the Shackelford Chapel with burial in the New Harmony Cemetery. Charles Grant officiated. In addition to his wife, Mr. Alexander leaves three daughters, Johnnie Evelyn Rhoads and Elaine Moore, both of Blytheville, Ark., and Pat Hornsey of Boerne, Texas; two sons, Chester Alexander of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Gerald Alexander of Savannah; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Northcutt of Calvert City, Ky.
