Beryleen Alexander Duke died Friday, Jan. 24, at her home in Savannah at the age of 91. She was born Nov. 28, 1905 in Hardin County and was the daughter of the late Chesley and Ida Owen Alexander. On Nov. 21, 1926, she was married to Benjamin R. Duke who preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1996. Mrs. Duke was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She was a member of the Helping Hands at the church, and of the Home Demonstration Club in Southeast Missouri. She was a homemaker. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Shackelford Chapel with Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens of Hardin County. She leaves three daughters, Betty Swift of Odessa, Texas, Margie Baker of Nolensville, and Yvonne Duke Hershman of Miami Fla.; two sons, Frank Duke of Holladay and Don Duke of Memphis; one sister, Mrs. Norma Northcutt of Calvert City Ky.; one brother, Gordy Alexander of Savannah; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ina Joyce Duke; one great-granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers.
