Archer Man Dies At 62

REXBURG, Sept. 3 – Samuel Lee Kennington, 62, resident of Archer since 1929, died Friday afternoon [30 August 1968].

He was born May 2, 1906 at Afton, Wyo., son of Samuel Kennington and Rachel Sphia Clements Kennington. He attended school at Afton, Wyo., and came to Archer April 4, 1929, and worked in the community for Mrs. J. Jackson and Henry Sutton. He married Myrtle Martha Wilcox Nov. 13, 1935, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple, July 30, 1941.

Mr. Kennington served as watermaster for 27 years on the Sunnydell Irrigation District. He was employed as a bus driver for seven years at Archer, and was currently employed at the Lincoln sugar factory near Idaho Falls.

Survivors are his widow and the following daughters: Mrs. Robert E. (Romma) Howell and Genevieve Kennington, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Fern Kennington, Archer; two grandsons, two brothers and three sisters, William Albert Kennington, Los Angeles; George Howard Kennington, Smithville, Utah; Cyrena Cantwell, Ogden, Utah; Irene Carver, Soda Springs; and Evva Lee Branghan, Chesterfield, Idaho. He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon [3 September 1968] in the Archer LDS Ward by Bishop George Munns. Interment was in the Archer Cemetery directed by Flamm Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Sutton Cemetery in Archer.

Relatives in Star Valley were notified of the death of a former resident, Samuel Lee Kennington, 62, resident of Archer, Idaho since 1929, Friday afternoon Sept 30 [30 August 1968].

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon [3 September 1968] in the Archer LDS Ward and interment was in the Archer Cemetery.
