ELSIE MAE SNOOK, 87, of 102 W. Finley Avenue, Ottumwa, Iowa died at 9:06 a.m. July 04 1984 at St Joseph Hospital Ottumwa, Iowa.
She was born April 18 1897, in Wapello County, Iowa to ELMER and EMMA ABERCROMBIE HARTLEY. She was a resident of Ottumwa, Iowa most of her life and a member of the Zion Church of God. She married AUBREY SNOOK in September of 1941. He died in October of 1970.
She is survived by five daughters; ALICE HANCOCK of Ottumwa, Iowa; MADELIN ORMAN of Lakeside, Oregon; ROSALEE CORNEILUS, JEAN STODGHILL both of Ottumwa, Iowa and BETHENE BRUNER of Bloomfield, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
3 great-great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters;
IRENE HOUK of Ottumwa, Iowa; GLADYS GIVEN of Duncanville, Alabama; and VIRGINIA SKALA of Eagles, Nebraska; one stepson DONALD SNO0OK of Holton, Kansas; 16 step grandchildren; and three sisters; ETHEL PRICE and EDITH BRIGGS of Ottumwa, Iowa; and ERVAL LOY of San Luis Bisco, California.
The service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev Maurice Overturf officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday, and the family will be at the Funeral home from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
