OTTUMWA-Jean M. Stodghill, 96, of Ottumwa, died at 4:45 p.m. May 2, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

She was born May 16, 1926 in Ottumwa to Clarence and Elsie Hartley Hopwood. Jean married Leo E. Stodghill on September 17, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1995.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Marvin) Rowell of Ottumwa; son-in-law, Bob Blackwell; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Rowell, David Rowell (Steve) Elbert), Curtis (Julie) Blackwell, Maliea (Troy) Hart and Jeannie (Joe) Grife; 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler Hart, Trenton (Katlin) Hart, Bethany (Chris) Shafer, Nicholas Blackwell, Cooper Grife and Hudson Grife; and 4 great-great grandchildren, Chris, Colton, Harvey and Mackenzie;

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Aubrey Snook; her daughter, Kathy Blackwell; and sisters, Alice Hancock, Madeline Orman, RosaLee Cornelius and Bethene Bruner.

Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
