Last Thursday morning, just after Joe Barton had started out on his rural route, a telephone message was received to the effect that his wife had dropped dead, while hanging out clothes that she had just washed. Uremic convulision is given as the cause of her sudden death.
The remains were held until the arrival of her son Clarence Roots from Boston, and on Monday afternoon interrment was made at Lone Star Cemetery.

Clara Maude White was born near Castleton, on Aug. 23, 1876. In 1894 she married to Edwin Roots at Hutchinson. They moved to Gate, Okla., where Mr. Roots died in 1904, leaving two sons, Clarence who now lives in Massachusetts, and Charles, who lives at Langdon.
After death of Mr. Roots, Mrs. Roots and children returned to Reno County. On May 15, 1912, Mrs. Roots was married to J. B. Barton, at Pretty Prairie. Three children were born to this union, Lawrence, Ethel and Viola.
Besides leaving her husband and children to mourn her loss, she leaves three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Berends, Mrs. West and Mrs. Harrison all of Pretty Prairie, Arthur White of Alva, Okla., Fred and George White of Hutchinson.
