He was born July 4, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Keros Harry and Lily Watkins Searle.He attended South High School and graduated from the University of Utah. He married Helen Jane Smith on July 21, 1939; marriage solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on January 17, 1977.
Allen served his country for two years during World War II. He had a successful career with Graybar Electric for 40 years. A dedicated member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings including Elder's Quorum President, Stake Executive Secretary for 2 presidents, and Los Angeles Temple worker and sealer for 16 years. He loved his family and was a devoted husband and father, his most prized possessions. He taught them the value of hard work, frugality, and fairness to others. He joins his special son, Michael, in a better place.
Survived by wife, Helen, three daughters; Patty Gillespie (Dan), Jeri Hessing (Lyle), and Lori Stockinger (John); nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sisters; Mary Schriever, Phyllis White (Bill), Beverly Spencer (Harold), Ruby Brown (Richard), and Pat Lowder. Brothers-in-law, Harold Smith (Dorothy) and Lee Smith (Joan). Preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Allen Searle.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 27, 1998 at the Little Cottonwood 14th Ward, 1250 E. Murray Holladay Road at 12 noon. Friends may call prior to the service at the church at 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
