Beverly Watkins Searle Spencer, 78, passed away quietly at her Salt Lake City home in the presence of her beloved family on 18 August 1999 from complications of acute leukemia. She bravely dealt with Parkinson's Disease for the past five years.

She was born 29 January 1921 in Salt Lake City. She was the fourth of six children born to Keros Harry Searle and Lily Watkins. Beverly was a senior class officer at South High School. She earned a degree from the University of Utah in secondary education, with a minor in speech and health education. She was active in Spurs and Orchesis.

She married her cherished sweetheart, Harold Maxfield Spencer, in the Salt Lake Temple on 16 June 1942. During their fifty-seven years together, they delighted in each others' companionship. She considered her greatest accomplishments to be her wonderful marriage to her devoted, loving husband, and her five sons and their families. She found great joy in their choices to serve missions, graduate from college, and marry their own sweethearts in the temple. Adored by her twenty grandchildren, Grandma left their hearts full of happy, rich memories.

Beverly taught her children and grandchildren to serve by example. She will be remembered as a warm, loving, gentle, and kind person that was always positive, cheerful, and comforting to all. She served everyone she knew, including her family, ward, and neighbors tirelessly.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in innumerable capacities that included Primary, Relief Society, Young Women, and a committee of the General Board.

She is survived by her husband and sons and grandchildren: son, Gregory J. (Marjorie), and children, John, Suzanne Wirthlin (John), Rebecca, Mark, and Christine; son, Stanford S. (Yvonne), and sons, Justin (Rene), Andrew, Chad, and Jordan; son, Mark H. (Beverly), and children, Stephen, Barbara, and Catherine; son, Matthew A. (Cynthia), and children, Elizabeth, Matthew, William, and Thomas; and son, Timothy S. (Marie), and children, Sara, Jennifer, Brian, and Alison. Preceded in death by her brother, Allen W. (Helen, deceased); and sisters-in-law, Kathryn Terry (Steven, deceased) and Betty Wood (William).
