John C. Crowfoot was born in 1796 in Huntingdon, Huntingshire, England. He married Anne Hollis, who was born in 1797 in Huntingshire, England. They had 12 children, James ( born 1821), David (born Nov. 1822), Mahala ( born 1824), Theresa/Thorzah ( born March 25, 1827), Ezra ( born 1828-died 1835 England), Abel (June 14, 1829), Josiah or Joseph ( born March 16, 1831), Sarah ( born 1833 ), Isacher or Issucar ( born June 2, 1834), Anne ( born Feb. 9, 1837). John ( born March 28, 1839) and Jesse ( born 1841).
John and Ann Crowfoot came to America with their family on July 23, 1835 arriving in New York on the ship Brig Resolution. The family settled in Oswego, New York. In 1845 the family moved to the town of Rubicon near Saylesville. John died in 1864, Ann died at the home of her son Josiah on Dec. 30, 1882.

" Mother Crowfoot united with the church, when quite young, and even continued a steadfast and consistent member. She was a sweet singer, quiet and self poised, a lover of the beautiful and artistic, flowers , and fine needlework. But her greatest joy was found in reading the sacred scriptures, that ever had new, and increasing charm for her." ( Obituary- Hartford Press)
