Born Dec. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Virgil Gilkey and Myrtle (Norris) Gilkey of Athens.
Survivors include a friend, Diane Wimer, three sons, Kenny Gilkey, Roger Gilkey, Jr. and Robert Gilkey, one daughter, Ramona, four brothers, Earl Gilkey of Athens, Charles Gilkey of Zanesville, Ohio, John Gilkey of Gallipolils, and George Gilkey of Logan, and five sisters, Joan Willison and Shelly Fuller, both of Columbus, Opal Rutter of Albany, Rose Harriman of Zanesville, and Vera Gilkey of Athens.
Graveside services will be at 11am Wednesday at Burlingham Cemetery in Burlingham, Ohio. Burial is under direction of the Rutherford Shrover Funeral Home, 1278 W. Broad St., Columbus.
