NELSONVILLE - Myrtle Gilkey, 91, Nelsonville, passed away Friday, June 3, 2005, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born Dec. 4, 1913, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Alma Secoy Norris. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Opal Rutter of Springfield, Shelly (Les) Davidson of Venice, Fla., Vera (Ivan) Stanley of Nelsonville, Alma Rose Harriman and friend Jim Robinson of Zanesville and Lily Joann (Emerson) Willison of Columbus; sons John of Gallipolis, Charles of Chauncey and Earl Leon (Fonda) Gilkey of Glouster; 34 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Mont Gilkey; a daughter, Sharon Hanning; sons Donnie, Roger and George and an infant son.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, Albany, with Pastor Ross Kelsey officiating, and burial will be in Burlingham Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
