Andronico Antonio, second son of Alferez Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, Comandante of the Presidio of San Francisco, and Francisca Benicia Carrillo, was born on April 28, 1834 at outpost Castillo de San Joaquin, the entrance to San Francisco Bay, and baptized on May 2, 1834 at the Mission San Francisco de Asis. In June 1835, Andronico was brought to Sonoma by his parents. Andronico sailed for the East in 1852 to attend Mount St. Mary's School at Emmittsburg, Maryland. He remained in school until November 1855. Returning to Sonoma, Andronico struggled with finding his niche. In 1863, he settles in Vallejo with sister Fannie Frisbie and gave lessons in Spanish, French, piano, flute, guitar, harp, and vocal music. In addition, Andronico had a talent for mathematics; particularly for mathematical puzzles. In 1896, six years after his mother's death, Andronico became seriously ill with dropsy. For fifteen months, he was under the care of his brother, Dr. Platon Vallejo. On February 11, 1897, he passed away. Andronico never married. On February 13, 1897, Dr. Vallejo and his daughter Francisca brought the body of Andronico Antonio Vallejo to Sonoma for burial in Mountain Cemetery.
