Pauline M. Wagner

York - Pauline Mae (Forry) Wagner, 87, died peacefully, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Autumn House East, York.
Born in Hallam on March 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nelson E. and Idella I. (Smeltzer) Forry. Pauline was the loving wife of Robert L. Wagner; they were married May 24, 1952.
Pauline was a 1949 graduate of the former Hellam High School. Following graduation, she worked for Gentzler Tile and Marble Company until her marriage to Robert. Later she worked for more than 20 years until her retirement in 1992 for GTE as a repair and service operator.
Pauline was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Hallam, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to read, travel, take lots of photos, scrapbook, and visit with her family.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by her son, Robert L. Wagner, and his wife, Ann (Calhoun) of Shermans Dale; her daughter, Claudia D. Shanaman and her husband, Victor of York; her grandchildren, Stephanie Reid, and her husband, Timothy of York, Matthew Shanaman, and his wife, Sarah (Ho) of AZ, Daniel Shanaman, and his wife, Sarah (Taylor) of TN; and her great-grandchildren, Genevieve and Grant Reid of York, Jadelynne and Apollo Shanaman of AZ, and Lyla Shanaman of TN, and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald N. Forry and Glenn E. Forry.
A funeral service to celebrate Pauline's life will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Faith United Methodist Church, 126 East Market Street, Hallam, with Pastor Vernon E. Shenberger officiating. Following a gathering at the church, private interment will be held in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pauline's memory may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 126 East Market Street, Hallam, PA 17406.
