Mary, 91, Maria Stein, died at The Gardens of St. Henry.

She was the daughter of George and Rose (Stammen) Buehler. On Oct 9, 1948, she married Werner ‘Barney’ Thobe, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons: Gary (Elaine), Maria Stein, and Douglas (Beverly) Thobe, Celina; five daughters: Janet (Ralph) Rindler, St. Henry, Sharon (Randy) Harris, Merritt Island, FL, Vicki (Ron) Winner and Pam Stucke, both Maria Stein, and Sue (Dan) Drees, Columbus; five brothers-in-law: Jigs (Velma), Don (Patty), Brownie (Shirley) and Dutch (Jean), all Maria Stein, and Larry Thobe, St. Marys; four sisters-in-law: Toot Mescher, Coldwater, Mart (Tom) Warner, New Bremen, Margie (David) Moeller, Cassella, and Lois (Jay) Hogenkamp, Carthagena; and twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son-in-law, Jim Stucke; three brothers and five sisters, all linked below; nine in-laws: Ed Post, Hoot Evers, Butch (Mary) Thobe, Alice (Leonard) Varno, Buck (Norma) Thobe, Whitey (Ginny) Thobe, Marilyn (Dale) Miller, John Mescher, and Linda Thobe; and a grandchild and two great-grandchildren/

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the St. Ann Altar Rosary Sodality, and the American Legion auxiliary drill team. She worked for 10 years as a school cook and at the Boeckman-Gast Canning plant in Minster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
