Archie & Bert were in business as Rawles & Rawles, Drapers

He first married May Harriet Patience Watts (1888-) in 1906
He next married Catherine Lilley (1882-1974) in 1916

Horowhenua Chronicle, 22 April 1932
Archibald W. Rawles and F. Locke, both of Waitara, received serious head injuries to-night when Rawles' car left the road and crashed into an electric light pole in Mew Plymouth. The force of the impact split the stout pole half way up and plunged the district into darkness. The car left the road after crossing the Waiwakaiho bridge. It missed one pole and the rear struck the next. The car jumped towards the roadway, landed on its nose, somersaulted and slewed round.
The hospital reported that both men had head injuries and that their condition was fairly critical
