Referring to the death of Mr S. J. Rawles, the President of the Stratford A. and P. Association at a meeting of the General Committee on Saturday, said that Mr Rawles had been a faithful citizen and although he did not take active part in public matters, his interest was always there. When the Association was started, Mr Rawles was one of the first to come forward with a life member's subscription of ten guineas. Mr Dingle moved that the Association tender its deepest regret and extend sincere sympathy to Mrs Rawles and family in their bereavement. The motion was carried in silence, members standing
