Reba Faye McFarland Owens, age 79, died February 7, 2018. She was born June 7, 1938 to Sephie and John McFarland. She met the love of her life at a football game when she was 14. They married right after she turned 18. Reba was a very loving woman who was active with her family, church, and community.
She was preceded in death by Charles Owens, her husband of 57 years. She was also preceded by a granddaughter (Bethany), great grandson (Adam), and eight siblings. She is survived by her twin sister Reva Walker and brother Ralph McFarland. She is also survived by her daughter Denise Charlene (Kevin) Thomas and son Jeffrey Barron (Michele) Owens. Grandchildren include Rebecca (Andrew) Lindemulder, Jaimie Christophersen, Robert Young, Desiree (Michael) Lynch, Stephanie (Alan) Schultz, Merrill Young, and Rachel Owens. She has eleven great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Abigail, Emilee, Miya, Lela, Marcus, Cole, Amanda, Serenity, Jaxon, and Samantha.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 12, 2018 at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Shultz, Caleb Yonnotti, Michael Lynch, Robert Young, Merrill Young and Kevin Thomas.
The family will be receiving friends from 4 pm - 8 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 and from 12 pm 2 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
In addition to floral tributes, the family asks that you can also make contributions in Reba's memory to Alive Hospice, 1818 Patterson St, Nashville, TN 37203.
