Services for Edna Garrard Gordon, 71, of Greenwood, who died of respiratory failure Monday, March 4, 2002, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, were at 11 a.m. today at Williams & Lord Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gordon was a homemaker. A native of Carroll County, she attended J.Z. George High School. She was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Lanier" Gordon, and by her son, James Franklin Gordon.
She is survived by a daughter, Dalores Gordon Blount of Greenwood; four sisters, Lucy Sproles, Estelle Ballard and Lorene Jackson, all of Greenwood, and Pauline Reid of Winona; three brothers, Sam Garrard of Winona, and Holman Garrard and Douglas Garrard, both of Itta Bena; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
The Rev. Ernest Gordon, the Rev. Danny Jackson and the Rev. Bob Blakely officiated at the services. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Reid, Ted Ballard, David Garrard, Charles Sproles, Paul Garrard and Bobby Garrard.
Visitation was Tuesday night at the funeral home.
