Lorene Garrard Jackson, 90, of Greenwood died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital of heart failure. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Greenwood Church of God on Brentwood Avenue. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 Greenwood Church of God. Burial will be in Centerville Baptist Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Michael Mooneyham will officiate. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Carroll County on February 19, 1925 to Moses Levi Garrard, Sr. and Alma Teal Garrard and lived in this area all of her life. She was retired from Bellsouth for 28 years after 37 years of of service as a service representative. She was a member and founder of Greenwood Church of God and was faithful to her church and participated in numerous church activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years David Rogers Jackson, and son Danny Sandifer Jackson, Sr. four brothers Reverend Sam Garrard, Levi Garrard, Holman Garrard and W.G. Garrard. Three sisters Lucy Garrard Sproles, Estelle Garrard Ballard, Edna Garrard Gordon and her parents.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son Roy R. Jackson and wife Barbara of Greenwood, sister Pauline Garrard Reid of Winona, five grandchildren Melissa Jackson Walker and husband Mike of Warner Robbins, GA, James David Jackson and wife Beverly of Brandon, MS, Danny S. Jackson, Jr. and wife Shelia of Purvis, MS, Jennifer Jackson Conn and husband Tommy of Union, MS, David Lee Jackson and wife Evette of California and twelve great-grandchildren. Special friends Roger and Mary Alice Floyd of Greenwood, caregivers Willie Mae Wilson and Harold Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Mike Walker, Noah Walker, Brad Garrard, Danny Jackson, Jr., David Lee Jackson, James David Jackson, Reed Jackson, and Tommy Conn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Sproles, Johnny Sproles, Charles Garrard, and Dr. Michael Boler.
