Ann Asby, 80, of Edwardsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born April 11, 1937, in Kingston, a daughter of the late James and Alice McHugh Mooney.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School and was employed as an insurance adjuster by Winger and Co. Insurance and later by Pennsylvania National Insurance Co.

Ann was an active member of the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Kingston, having served on many committees and assisted with their picnics.

She was proud of her Irish heritage and traveled to Ireland and many other places including Italy, the Caribbean, Colorado and Florida. Ann loved her dogs and the outdoors, and was an avid skier and bicyclist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack, Bill, Frank and Jimmy Mooney.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Acute Rehabilitation Center, Riverstreet Manor and Drs. Stanley Lobitz and David Greenwald for the care that they provided.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Schwartz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Maher-Collins Funeral Home, 360 N. Maple Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Pringle.
