Hilda Elizabeth (Hoffmann) Fritz was born on July 20, 1914 in Sioux County, IA the daughter of Eugene & Elizabeth (Bover) Hoffmann. She married Lawrence J. Fritz on June 9, 1936 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, MN. The couple lived and farmed near Sleepy Eye for many years. After Lawrence preceded her in death in 1963, Hilda moved to Sleepy Eye where she worked at A.U.I., retiring after 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Aid Association, Christian Mothers, Divine Providence Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She was also a member of the Prairieville Homemakers Extension Club for 50 years and was a 4-H club leader of the Prairieville Beavers for 15 years. Hilda enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and had a large flower garden.

Survivors include her children, Eugene (Betsy) Fritz of Elk River, MN, Janette Ramla of Stevens Point, WI, Darlene (John) Spenczynski of Phoenix, AZ and Patricia (Brad) Schultz of Morgantown, IN, eight grandchildren, sevengreat-grandchildren, sister, Margaret Bertrand of Sleepy Eye, Elizabeth (Elmer) Heinricher of Flandreau, SD and Cathy (Jack) Terrell of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, brothers, Leo, Edgar, Marcel, Art and Eugene and sisters, Esther Miller and Leona Branstner.
