Gerald "Jerry" Lee Romney, age 68, passed from this life surrounded by family, December 6, 2016 after a faithful battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Jerry was born in Prescott, AZ., July 4, 1948 to Pearl Tenney and George Lee Romney, who taught him to work hard and serve others. The second of five children, Jerry spent his entire life surrounded by strong, women who he adored, and lovingly teased. Jerry grew up in Prescott and later moved to Flagstaff, AZ. where he completed high school and attended Northern Arizona University, eventually earning a Masters Degree in Education.
At age 19 Jerry served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southwest British Mission in England and Wales.
Jerry's ability to communicate served him well when he met his beautiful wife Patricia Oates and talked her into marrying him after just twelve daysl They were married March 24,1978 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
Jerry was once again surrounded by household of women when two daughters were born: Sarah Dawn Christensen and Emily Suzanne Simper, his pride and joy.
Jerry attended mortuary science school and began his career as a funeral director which combined all the things he loved most: serving others, faith in God, families, talking, and music.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Father; George Lee Romney, his sister; Michele Romney Garvin and son-inlaw; Nathan C. Williams.
