Early Life: Michele was born January 26, 1958, in Flagstaff, Arizona, to George Lee Romney and Pearl Tenney Romney.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: In 1978, she married Craig W. Garvin in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They lived in Mesa for the beginning of their marriage and had two daughters there; they then settled the family in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1983. They called Las Vegas their home for the next 24 years and had three more children added to their family. While living in Las Vegas, she wrote and published two books and a song about service. After a brief stay in Prescott, Arizona, they moved to Utah where they lived for the last four years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She fulfilled various callings throughout the years and some of her favorites were opportunities to teach both youth and adults. She tirelessly gave of her time and talents in helping others. Her example of service is a legacy that her family holds dear. She was an exceptional mother who lovingly taught her children by word and deed. She cherished her family and relationships. "I can do hard things" was a motto that she lived her life by. Michele Romney Garvin passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, Monday, September 22, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 56 years old.
Survived By: Her devoted husband, Craig Garvin; five children: Charlene (Paul) Johnson, Amy (Steve) Rindlisbacher, Byron (Tracy) Garvin, Daniel (Kyrstin) Garvin, Tauna (Isaac) Orgill; 12 grandchildren; her mother Pearl Tenney Romney; and her loving brother and sisters.
