Services for Robert H. Bottorff, 87, Moline, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Silvis United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Memorials may be made to the church.

He died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.

He was born Sept. 25, 1913, in Wapello County, Iowa, the son of Emanuel and Orpha Hayes Bottorff. He married Virginia Hollingsworth June 25, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo.

He was employed as a journeyman steamfitter for 55 years, working mostly for Ramcon in Moline and the J.L. Brady Co. in East Moline.

He served eight years in the U.S. Navy, serving on combat ships during World War II.

He was a member of Silvis Men's Brotherhood, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 25 in Rock Island, and Dreier-Whitney Post 1933, Veterans of Foreign War in Silvis.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Kay Streebe and husband Larry, Asotin, Wash., and June O'Donoghue and husband Tom, Winnetka, Ill.; sons, Harry Bottorff and wife Kathy, Geneseo, and Richard Bottorff and wife Nancy, Plymouth, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Warren Bottorff, Sigourney, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
