Emanuel Henry Bottorff, 76, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Keokuk County Hospital. He was born near Sellersburg, Indiana, January 17, 1883, the son of Peter H. and Eliza Moore Bottorff. He was married to Orpha E. Hayes, November 12, 1908. They became the parents of five sons, all of whom survive. They are Ralph, of near Martinsburg, Robert of East Moline Illinois, Claude of Des Moines, Harry of near Highland Center, and Warren of near Packwood. There are fourteen surviving grandchildren and a host of friends and more distant relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orpha, November 22, 1954, one grandchild, who died in infancy, two brothers, five sisters, and his parents.

His entire life was spent in Wapello and Keokuk Counties, except for the first three years in Indiana; four years near Moulton, Iowa, and two years near Atlanta, Missouri. "Manny," as he was known to his friends, retired from farming in 1957. He attended the Methodist Church at Farson, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the Martinsburg Methodist Church this afternoon. Interment will be made in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, nears Martinsburg. The Rev. John A. Robinson will be in charge of the service.
