Edna May Schoessler, 100, of Yakima, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, October 25, 2017, at the Cottage in the Meadow, Yakima, surrounded by her family. She was born the youngest of six children born to Herman J. and Edna Mae (Clement) Webster on December 7, 1916. She had a very long and wonderful life. She loved everyone and helped everyone.

Raised in Billings, MT, Edna graduated from Billings High School in 1934. In 1937, she married Logan Greene in Custer, MT. In the spring of 1941, the family moved to Hawaii. She was there in Hawaii with her two oldest daughters when Pearl Harbor was bombed on her 25th birthday: December 7, 1941. She said, “it was very terrifying.” Edna and her two daughters were sent back to the mainland shortly after. She was very relieved to be home.

She went back to Billings, MT where her third daughter was born. After divorcing her husband, Logan, she worked at a café in Custer, MT, as a cook — and she was a very good cook. In 1955, she married Dan Schoessler. They lived in Othello where her fourth daughter, Danielle, was born. The family moved to Ellensburg where Danielle was raised.

Edna enjoyed cooking, sewing and embroidery, and going to church. Her favorite hobby was crossword puzzles. She worked the puzzles every day in the newspapers, never missing a day. She started her morning with the crossword puzzle; after finishing, she went about her day. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Later, after Dan retired, they traveled all over the United States and enjoyed visiting family and sightseeing.

After Dan passed away in 1997, Edna May lived at home until her passing. One of her grandsons, Jackie L. Couch, lived with her and took care of her, when she was no longer able to care for herself, which her family very much appreciated. Jackie said that this is what he wanted to do for his Grandma. Edna saw many things — good and bad; she had many years of happiness and a good, fulfilling life, and she was well-loved by many. Her favorite saying was, “Treat everyone like you want to be treated.” She didn’t like to hurt anyone.

Surviving family includes her daughters: Gloria M. (Arthur) Loos of Shiner, Texas, Danielle J. (Paul) Young of Moxee, WA; step-son Roy (Patricia) Schoessler and step-daughter Sharon B. Brown, both of Billings, MT; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. We all will miss her deeply. Edna is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters: Sharon L. Becker, and Diane J. Ettenhofer; grandsons: Daniel L. Schoessler, Mordiece Adams and Daron L. Loos; sisters; Venita E. Shepard, Una V. Hopkins, Zetta E. Jones, Melba E. Harden; and brother Everett S. Webster.

Visitation will be offered 3:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N. 2nd St., Yakima. Graveside services will be Friday, November 3, 2017, at Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima.
