Edna Mae was the first of nine children born to John H. and Oliva (Carr) Clement. While living in Baraboo, Wisconsin, she met and married Herman Joseph Webster on August 22, 1900. They moved to Spokane, Washington in 1908 where Herman had a job with Chant Music and later Sherman Clay Music company. They moved to Billings, Montana in 1915. Her son, Everett, shared his thoughts about her work ethic: "I just remember how hard she worked. My, I'm telling you! She'd sit up every night ‘til about one o'clock darning socks, mending clothes and all that stuff, you know. Get up at five o'clock in the morning. Boy I'm telling you. She lived to be eighty. She was a good woman. She sure took care of her kids."
Herman and Edna Mae moved to Custer, Montana in 1935 where they ran a patent medicine store called the Cozy Corner and also managed the post office which was in the same building. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in August 1950 and all their children were in attendance in Custer for the happy event.
Edna Mae suffered a heart attack at home and went to Deaconess Hospital in Billings where she stayed for three days. She died 30 March 1958 after another heart attack.

Her obituary appeared in the Billings Gazette, April 2, 1985.
