"Ramona K Shively, age 66, of Perry Township, passed away Friday evening at the home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Canton, Ohio on August 24, 1939, she was a 1957 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Olive Shively. She was a former Vice President for Adams Sign Co in Massillon, where she had worked for 27 years and was a retired employee of Heinz Frozen Foods, retiring in 2003.
She was very active in women's fast pitch softball and bowling. She was an avid animal lover taking great delight in the cats and dogs she sheltered.
She is survived by her lifelong friend and caregiver, Shirley Benedict of the home. Three brothers and sister-in-law, Gary and Fred Shively of Canton and Eric and Louise Shively of Worthington, OH; step-mother, Helen Shively of Canton. Nieces and nephews, Mike, Matt, Doug and Betsy Shively and Diane Ramona (Keith) VanBuskirk; and her special cousins, Susie Buckel, Becky 'Lamb' Montgomery, Charlie Duke and Brett Oberholzer.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 am in the Reed Funeral Home, Canton Chapel with Rev Edward M Fashbaugh II officiating. Burial will be in the Moultrie Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour before services on Tuesday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Aultman Hospice."
