VERGENNES, VT. - Clifford "Skip" Arthur Barrows Sr., age 84, of Vergennes, passed away on Friday, September 15th 2017 at the Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, Vt.

He was born on June 6th 1933 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of Rex Albert and Vera Esther (Manning) Barrows Sr.

He married Helen Marie Clark on August 23rd 1969 in Salisbury, Vermont. She predeceased him on March 14th 2016.

He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes, Vt.

He enjoyed fishing and going to Project Independence, music, sports, helping people and doing work at the church.

In addition to his wife; Helen Barrows, he was predeceased by three sons; Clifford Arthur Barrows Jr. on June 24th 1994, Joseph Arthur Barrows on May 10th 2003, and James Alan Barrows on January 21st 1984, his parents; his father Rex Barrows Sr. on December 20th 1959 and his mother Vera Barrows on March 7th 1995, four sisters; Marjorie Alice (Barrows) Benedict on April 2nd 2015, Doris Isabelle (Barrows) Jutras in November of 1994, Shirley Onita (Barrows) Chapman on November 8th 2013, and Winona Evelyn (Barrows) LaFountain on September 11th 2009, and two brothers; Alverton Bert Barrows on April 7th 1984 and Rex Albert Barrows Jr. on January 20th 1988.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19th 2017 at the Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home on 48 South Maple Street in Vergennes, Vt.

Burial will be at a later date.
