John William Theis, 78 years, 11 months, and 16 days, died on February 7, 1958 at 10:15 p.m. at his daughter's home in De Witt, Arkansas. No cause of death given. Mr. Theis was a Baptist and a retired farmer. He was born on February 22, 1879 in Atlanta, Illinois to Hilorius "Eli" Theis, born in Germany, and Elizabeth "Emma" Kibel, born in Indiana. He was preceeded in death by his parents and wife, Maggie Malone, one son, Willie, and one daughter, Hattie. He is survived by three sons, Henry, George, and John and three daughters, Hazel, Mattie, and Marcena. Funeral services will be held on February 10, 1958 at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Alvin Mayall officiating. Burial will be in the De Witt Cemetery.
