Daughter of John William Theis and Maggie N. Malone and wife of Henry Park Sanders.

Hazel Aileene Theis Sanders, age 87, of DeWitt went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2004. She was born September 24, 1916, to John and Maggie Theis. She was a charter member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church and served as church secretary, a position she held from the time it was organized until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Park Sanders; sisters, Mattie Conley and Marcena Byers ; and a brother, Wilmer Theis. Survivors include two brothers, H.T. Theis of Little Rock and George Theis of Piedmont, S.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Essex Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with burial at DeWitt Cemetery by Essex. Memorials may be made to Unity Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 501, DeWitt, Ark. 72042.
