Nadine was born on July 22, 1909, in rural Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Humphrey and Jessie O'Roark Wooden. She attended Cream Ridge country school.
On May 5, 1927, she was married to L. R. (Beck) Trussell. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1996. Nadine attended the New Salem Baptist Church. She was a farm wife and enjoyed crocheting, making quilts and gardening.
Three sisters, Neva Corf, Chillicothe, Missouri, Una Barron, Braymer, Missouri and Kathleen Jenks, Sydney, Nebraska, survive Nadine.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John, Leo (Pete), Henry, Buford, Gerald, Lloyd, Harold and Leslie Lee Wooden and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Dowell Mallory officiating. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hedrick Medical Center Hospice in memory of Mrs. Trussell. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633. (As printed in The Carrollton Democrat, August 29, 2006).
