Clyde H. Nichols, 83, of Bent Mountain, died on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Franklin County on May 28, 1934 to the late Robert Aldine and Lucy Holt Nichols.

He retired as a welder and supervisor at Roanoke Iron & Bridge Works.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Glenna Lawrence Nichols of the residence.

Also surviving are his sons, Donald (Sandra) Nichols, Ronald (Tammy) Nichols and Lyle (Desiree) Nichols; two sisters, Nadine N. Sloan of Boones Mill and Shirley N. (Jim) Mohler of Rocky Mount; two brothers, James Alton Nichols of Martinsville and Danny Lee Nichols of Copper Hill; three sisters-in-law, Effie G. Nichols of Copper Hill, Ruth K. Nichols of Martinsville and Erma Jean L. Vest of Check; two grandchildren, Allyson N. (James) Carter and Michael D. Nichols.



A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00PM at Oakey's South Chapel with interment to follow in the Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
