Robert Sherman Nichols, 92, of Copper Hill, went to be with the Lord on his birthday, May 8, 2014. Sherman was a World War II Veteran, and a lifetime member of the DAV. He was also a member of Copper Hill Church of the Brethren where he had served as a deacon for many years. He was an avid farmer. Sherman was preceded in death by his father, Robert Aldine Nichols, and his mother, Lucy Holt Nichols; and his son, James Neil Nichols; his granddaughter, April Nichols Holt; and his brothers, Wayne Nichols and Eugene Nichols. Funeral services will be at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014. Pastor Marty Moyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Copper Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Avenue from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday May 10, 2014. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
