ARTIE FITE
(1921-1989)

Artie Elmo Fite, 67, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Sunday at Scioto Memorial Hospital.

A farm laborer, he was a disabled Army veteran of World War II and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Lewis County, Ky.

He is survived by four brothers, Paul Fite of Maysville, James Fite of Ripley, Jennings Fite Jr. and Franklin Fite, both of Vanceburg; and six sisters, Wilma Shaw and Freda Toller, both of Vanceburg, Stella Toller of Manchester, Ohio, Blanche Applegate and Marie Fite, both of Maysville, and Verona Dixon of Newport, Ky.

Service is Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with the Rev. Wayne Riggs officiating and burial in Happy Hollow Church Cemetery at Ribolt, with graveside military rites by Lewis County Disabled American Veterans.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.
