Mrs. Salyer was a native of Sweetwater, Texas, and was a resident of Norfolk for more than 30 years. She was the widow of Edward R. Salyer. Mrs. Salyer was an employee of Versprille Hair Designs for 20 years and retired in 1994. She was a member of Park Place Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Lauren Campsen and her husband, Paul, of Norfolk; a son, Samuel L. Batten and his wife, Janet, of Belleville, Ontario; five sisters, Jerry Lynch and Betty Rawlings of Avinger, Texas, Louise Rawlings of Sweetwater, Texas, Ruby Fitzpatrick of Roby, Texas, Carol Ann Thompson of Roscoe, Texas; a brother, Ernest Foust of Avinger, Texas; and two grandchildren, Paul Jeffrey Campsen and Marc Andrew Campsen.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Francis E. Collins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements.
