LOWELL—George A. Byam, well known. former real estate agent, died this morning at his home, 23 Garin Terrace, aged 64. Although in poor- health, his death . "was. ' sudden " and " unexpected.
Born' in CheJmsford,..he" is the son of the late''-George A: and Mary S. (Byam) Byam, and came here as a young boy. One of the founders of Byam Brothers Insurance and Real Estate- Co, he retired in 1939.
He is a former member, of the Lowell chamber of commerce and the Massachusetts Real Estate association, and held life membership in the following Masonic bodies:
Pentucket Lodge, A. F. & A. M.; Mount Horeb. Royal Arch .chapter; Pilgrim Commandery.No. 9; and Ahasuerus Council, R. & S. M., all of Lowell; and Aleppo Temple, A. .A. O. N.'M. S. of Boston.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Balch; a twin son and daughter, George A., Jr., and Beverley B.; two other daughters, Mrs. Eleanor M. Wright of Bradford and Mrs. William Reise of Lawrence; a sister, Mrs Cara B. Emerson of Lawrence; two brothers, Ray S. of Rye, N. H., and Arnold A., Sr., of Chelmsford; and several, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
