LOWELL - Ray S. Byam of 70 North Shore road, Hampton, N. H., died Friday at -the Lowell General hospital after a brief illness, aged 68 years. A native and former resident of Chelimford, he was the son of the late George A. and Mary (Byam) Byam. Although he had made his home in Lowell for the greater part of his life, lie had spent the last nine years in the Rye beach and Hampton, N.H. area.
A real estate broker by vocation. he was formerly associated with his brothers the late Arnold Byam Sr. and the late George Byam, in the local firm of Byam Brothers. Of late, he had conducted his own agency in the New hampshire resorts where he more recently established his residence.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lucy H. Byam; four daughters, Mrs. George W. Nold, Jr., of Rye Beach, N. H., Miss Anna Saville Byam of Hampton, N. H., Mrs. Edward F. Case of Westford, and Mrs. Frederick H. Horne of Lake Bluff, Ill.; six granddaughters. Janice C. Nold and Raenette S. Nold, both of Rye Beach, N. H., Thayer S. Case and Martha Byam Case, both of Westford, and Lucia Byam Horne and Rayanne Adams Horne, of Lake Bluff, Ill.; three grandsons, Jeffrey E. Case of Westford, Roger Byam Nold of Rye Beach, N. H., and Frederick H. Horne, Jr., of Lake Bluff, Ill.;
and several nieces and nephews.
A life member of Pentucket Lodge. A.F. & A.M., of Lowell. Mr. Byam was a 32nd degree Mason and held membership in both the local York and Scottish Rite Bodies, as well a.s Massachusetts Consistory and Allepo Temple, AAONMS. of Boston. (“Ray S.
