Mr. Homer Vaulx Alston 78 of Robertstown, died at Lanier Park Hospital on Sunday, December 24th 1989 after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Charlie and Janie Alston. A native of Towns County Mr. Alston had lived in White County for the last 33 years of his life. Homer will be remembered for his fun loving personality. He was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church in Hiawassee. In addition to his parents Mr. Alston was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Alston. Survivors include his wife, Mable Alston of Helen; Avis Duffee of Opelika, Alabama; Myrtle Chastain of Helen; son Vaughn Alston of Hiawassee; sister Earlene Brown of Greer, SC; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday, December 26th, at Center Baptist Church in Robertstown with the Reverend Dan Aiken officiating. Burial was in Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee.
