A son of the late Joseph and Frances Slaboszewski, he was born in Joliet and lived here for all but seven years of his life. For five years he made his home in Lemont and for two years was in LaGrange. During World War I, he served with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Slaboszewski worked for the Texaco Co., as a pipefitter for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1962. He started to work at Texaco in 1928.
On April 25, Mr. Slaboszewski and his wife, the former Theresa Nickleski of Lemont, marked the 45th anniversary of their marriage. They were wed April 25, 1920 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church at Lemont.
Mr. Slaboszewski was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge 300.
Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Loiselle of Sun Valley, Calif. Mrs. Ray (Lee) Davidson of Joliet; Mrs. Edward (Bev) Novak of Lemont and Mrs. George (Joan) Govostis of Joliet; four sons, Val, Chet and Len Slaboszewski and Frank Burke, all of Joliet; 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Weir; Mrs. James (Florence Gregurich and Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Galle all of Joliet; and five brothers, Edward, Walter, Leo, John and Joseph Slaboszewski, all of Joliet.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Wisniewski Funeral Home to St. Thaddeus Church, 501 Liberty St., at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday.
